Social Media and Digital Marketing

The Diploma of Marketing and Communication is designed to develop the relevant theoretical and practical skills needed to forge a successful marketing career. The course equips students with specialised knowledge in customer research, web design, digital marketing and communications and practical experience developing promotional programs and business and marketing plans.

Students will learn how to pitch advertising concepts, identify and exploit market opportunities, understand consumer behaviour, as well as develop cutting edge skills in social media and online marketing.

Entry Requirements

  • Have completed BSB42415 Certificate IV in Marketing and Communication OR Have completed the following units (or equivalent competencies): BSBCMM411 Make presentations; BSBCRT412 Articulate, present and debate ideas; BSBMKG433 Undertake marketing activities; BSBMKG435 Analyse consumer behaviour; BSBMKG439 Develop and apply knowledge of communications industry; and BSBWRT411 Write complex documents. Equivalent competencies are predecessors to these units, which have been mapped as equivalent. OR Have two years equivalent full-time relevant work experience.
  • Minimum IELTS overall score of 5.5 with a minimum 5.0 in writing or evidence of upper intermediate English level.
  • Access to a laptop or tablet for home and classroom use.

Course Content

The Diploma of Marketing and Communications is completed over a 66 week period and includes 12 units of competency, made up of 5 core units and 7 elective units. Participants will have the opportunity to further increase their skills in key aspects of corporate marketing, with a strong focus on digital and social media marketing.
This qualification will also provide participants with the training needed to apply integrated technical and theoretical concepts in a broad range of skilled working situations.
